Hi all,
It's been a crazy few months..nearly a year, I'd suspect, for all of us. This year, my husband and I bought our first home, and that meant going through many boxes at the old to find letters from my foster mom and my friends who died. Of course, this brought up many emotions. Also, someone who was a key part of my childhood came back into my life, and asked forgiveness. This was a life changing moment. Friends have come in and out of my life, as I'm sure we have all faced, and the changes only make me stronger.
Career wise- life has thrown more curveballs than a Red Sox inning during the World Series. Every time I thought I could announce the book published, something happened to change that. In writing, I've also started to focus on a fiction piece, which is a comic book based alternative role playing game. Having the fantasy work helps to break up the sadness that builds from the grief work. And, I'm getting interviewed by more magazines over my other career- rat wrangling. You'll see me in Ladies Home Journal this fall.
For those who have been asking- physically, things are not as good as I hoped they'd be. The body is fighting me every moment of the day, but the prednisone that tore me up is finally being defeated by the Synthroid, so I'm starting to lose some of those symptoms that were just destroying me. I'm back in the wheelchair a lot more than I wanted to be, but it hasn't beaten me completely yet.
Hubby and I had our fourth little one this year- a kitten named Ella we got on Valentine's Day. That makes a quartet so we're done with our "children" at the moment. He's really enjoying his work and getting to meet wonderful people every day. We are going to be in Buffalo in October for a show he's doing and I think some of you who live on the east coast who like jazz may get a kick out of it.
I'll post that official author bio again. Just wanted to check in with everyone!
